I opened the door, revealing the small, brightly lit living room behind it.The gleaming white walls proudly showed off the antique pictures hanging on them, while lingering on the furniture was my mother's unique choice of design. The gleaming wooden flooring was reflecting the light thrown from the small crystal chandelier dangling dangerously from the ceiling-a gift from my insistent uncle who had been bent upon giving something so exquisite for my parent's 25th marriage anniversary. The oakwood staircase adjacent to the room, led up to the tastefully furnished bedroom which my parents would soon call their own.And behind a sliding door was my father's heaven-A shiny new drum kit lay there waiting, waiting to be played and waiting to steal someone's heart away which it was going to do, only too soon...... A little door opened into a large balcony already filled with dozens of blooming flowers- geraniums, dahlias, chrysanthemums, marigolds and blue orchids, to name a few.Their beckoning faces peered at you as if inviting you to join them in their dance as they celebrated the good weather. The kitchen was the only truly modernized part of the house, with its special burner, coffee maker,multi-level juice blender and other hi-tech gadgets such as the fore mentioned. The dining table consisted of a intricately carved cabinet, a dozen family photographs, a red antique lamp and an 19th century table. The back door spilled onto a tiny private garden, with its freshly mown grass giving it a lovely look. The bees and butterflies hovered lazily over the bright flowers basking in the warmth of the sun.The sun was bright and warm and shining, but not as bright as my mother's face when she saw her new home,or as warm as the hug my father gave me when he saw his surprise or as shining my face became when I saw the joy I had given to them;the happiness radiating off their faces made me feel like I never had before. They give you their heart and you give them their wish-A House in the Hills, and me flourishing in life.....I guess it was a dream come true!
